Alexander Antoshin on Novye Chroniki
http://novchronic.ru/1695.htm
Author thinks that presence of Russian Army in Georgian mainland is in need for Georgian people and Georgian officials more then for anybody else. Very surprising idea, however, as Antoshin mentioned,
As a result of chaotic retreat of Georgian army a lot of weapon (not only Kalashnikovs, but even tanks!) is free to pick it up! And a lot of angry civilians – osetian and georgian have a chance to use it now.
Is any way to avoid a new ethnical violence without the presence of Russian army? What’s the condition of Georgian army now ? It looks that it was seriously damage and it lost a lot of tanks and artillery.
If tank battles between civilians will start, how to maintain a peacekeeping process?
Was anything like this before in the history of peacekeeping?
